a5c7b9f00b Dr Victor Frankenstein dies frozen to death and the creature buries him at the cemetery of his family. However he is attacked by demons but he kills one of them and Gargoyles save him and take him to a Cathedral where the Gargoyles Order gathers. The Queen of the Gargoyles Leonore keeps Dr. Frankenstein's journal together with the treasures of the Order and gives the name of Adam to the creature. Then she explains to Adam that there is an ancient war between the Gargoyles that are angels and demons under the command of the Prince Naberius. She also invites Adam to join the Gargoyles in the war against demons, but Adam prefers to isolate in a remote place. Two hundred years later, Adam returns and finds a modern society. Soon he learns that Naberius has the intention of creating an army of soulless corpses to be possessed by demons. The scientist Terra is researching a process to create life and Naberius is seeking Dr Frankenstein's journal to help Terra and raise his army.
Frankenstein's creature finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
Would you please excuse me for rating both 'I, Frankenstein' and 'Victor Frankenstein' with '2', only, but I had the chance to notice the developments of culture, economy, business and politics through years(opposite I'm only a little over 36 only, right now). And opposite I'm an intellectual and an official EXPERT who is informed about the massive amount of dishonesty, theft and idiocy among a lot of other evil things that have invaded our world in the last years, I can't stop myself being amazed by what brains both creators of such 'novels and movies', and their consumers too, might have. Only because, in my European official EXPERT opinion(and I've never had any penal accusations in my life, too): I don't understand how much 'normal' you may be, if you saw the trailer for these movies, and then you still bought a ticket or rented the video from a shop, indeed. What a world of 'creators' and 'consumers' we live !!
Now by all means i am a massive geek who normally loves this sort of supernatural action movie, however I,Frankenstein is an odd one.

To start with, the pacing of this movie is strange, its not gripping but it's not unwatchable, the back story at the beginning of the movie isn't actually filmed its just narrated by Aaron Eckhart with clips of what happened in Frankenstein's past and how Adam (monster) became to exist, which was different and set the film up with a weird vibe.

The prop design in regards to weapons and style was pretty good and it was pleasant to watch, with the exception of average CGI and special effects which wasn't up to standard with modern cinema.

performance wise Aaron Eckhart (Frankensteins monster aka Adam) plays the role to it's full potential playing out the part basically as it's written from the script so no complaints, he clearly hit the gym for the role too so fair play to him as he's into his 40s now.

Miranda Otto (Gargoyle queen aka Leonore) who we all recognise from LOTR two towers. she plays the heartless snobby bitch part perfectly and still has a slight bossy sex appeal but otherwise she is just a hated character in the movie.

Bill Nighy (Naberius aka bad guy) is essentially Bill Nighy like in all his roles, same harsh tone of voice and zombie like appearance as he had in underworld. not much to say about him.

Jai Courtney who i first saw in Die Hard 5 plays the henchman styled warrior general Gargoyle (Gideon) with very good presence and basically pulls off the bad-ass type of character perfectly. in my opinion he is one actor to watch over the next few years as he could easily become the next action star.

I think what overall shocked me about this movie is the storyline. if you replace demons with vampires then the story is basically Van Helsing but instead of Van Helsing there is Gargoyles and the story is told from Frankenstein's monsters point of view.

My advice is wait till it's on TV and have a beer and a pizza while watching it, don't pay £9 in the cinema! 3 out of 10
The humorless, generic, and chatty Frankenstein served up here makes you wonder if the good doctor, in all his patching-together of parts, didn’t forget the brains.
